MORRIS —The Oxford Blackhawks girls' basketball team returned to Morris High School on Saturday for the Joan Martin Holiday tournament consolation game. The Lady Blackhawks defeated Morrisville-Eaton 46-36 to take third in the tournament.
After being down 14-12 in the first quarter, Oxford turned things around rather quickly.
The offense continued to play consistently while the defense amped up, holding Morrisville-Eaton to single-digits in both the second and third quarters.
Even when their opponent picked up the pace in the final eight minutes of play, the Blackhawks stayed up on offense.
Raine Rovente led Oxford with a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Aubrey Rickard and Margaret Rovente both finished with nine points.
Rickard, who made the all-tournament team, added 10 rebounds as Margaret had nine rebounds.
Olivia Oliver had eight points while Emmalee Reiss contributed with two points in the first quarter.
Oxford (2-2) hosts Deposit-Hancock on Friday at 7:15 p.m. for the Blackhawks' 2025-26 home opener.
