Chenango County D.A. Presents Felony Cases Involving Weapons, Burglary, Drug Dealing And Uncooperative Sex Offenders

CHENANGO COUNTY - A Chenango County grand jury has issued multiple indictments this month, bringing felony charges involving burglary, drug dealing, weapon offenses, sex offenders failing to check in with local officials and the most serious driving while intoxicated cases.

The alleged crimes span several communities including Norwich, Sherburne, Otselic, and New Berlin.

Damian J. Bonanni was indicted on two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (class B felonies). The indictment alleges that on July 16, in Otselic, Bonanni possessed fentanyl and cocaine with intent to sell.

Kaylub J. Rifanburg was indicted on multiple counts: second-degree criminal possession of a weapon (class C felony), third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (class D felony), and possession of burglar’s tools (class A misdemeanor). The indictment states that on August 25, in Norwich, Rifanburg possessed a loaded 9mm pistol, a large-capacity magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds, and a backpack containing ski masks and a lock pick.
