NORWICH — It was announced that Norwich High School will host the 2025 Big 44 All-Star Game that features nominated and selected all-stars from Section III and Section IV football teams. This will be the fourth annual game, which honors both Ernie Davis and Floyd Little, who both wore the number 44 at Syracuse University. It is also a big honor for Norwich, who had alums that attended Syracuse as well.

The Big 44 All-Star Game will be held on Sunday, November 23 at noon. Admission will be $5 and there will be extra parking available at the Chenango County Fairgrounds.

Concessions will be run by the Norwich Cheerleaders and the Pep Club will be selling 50/50 tickets.

“We are thrilled to welcome these outstanding senior student-athletes, their families, and fans to Norwich at our new and improved facilities,” Norwich Athletic Director Joe Alger said. “It is a great opportunity to showcase the hard work and investment that has gone into creating an exceptional experience for athletes and community.”

Alger also shared that he was appreciative of the opportunity to highlight these recent improvements.

“There is an opportunity as the Section IV football committee was looking for a host site and I offered our facilities in hopes that we will be awarded the chance to showcase what Norwich has to offer and provide a first class venue and hospitality for a great event.”

The Big 44 All-Star Game will also feature four seniors representing the Norwich Purple Tornado on the Section IV team, which will be “Davis” and Section III will be “Little.”

Congratulations to Zack Parker, Zach Turner, Leland Montgomery, and Connor White on being selected.

“I think it is a great opportunity for Norwich to showcase our facilities in an all-star game between section III and Section IV,” Norwich head coach Mike Chrystie said that echoed Alger. “We have brand new facilities and for a game like this to be played at Norwich is special and to have four players make the team is also exciting for not only our program but the community as a whole.”

Good luck to all athletes.
