B-G Football Drops To Walton In Final Game Of The Season

WALTON—On Saturday afternoon, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats football team traveled to Walton for the 2025 season finale. Both teams fought to end their seasons on a high note. However, Walton came up with the 60-38 victory.

Both teams traded touchdowns in the first quarter before Walton soared on, outscoring B-G 24-6 in the second quarter and would continue to extend its lead in the third quarter.

B-G's best efforts came in the final 12 minutes with three touchdowns scored.

B-G's Quarterback Connor Davy played his final game to wrap up his senior year, where he went 13-for-30 for 214 yards and five touchdowns.Two of the five touchdown passes went to fellow senior Isaiah Hampton with one to seniors Jaxson McGraw and Parker Buttice and one to freshman Zane Mumbulo.

Hampton led the way with four receptions for 109 yards.

Brayden Swartwout led the Bobcats with 17 tackles on defense as Buttice and Mumbulo both had 11 tackles. Swartwout and Tyler Engel recovered two fumbles to help on the defensive front.

Coach Art Rigas and his Bobcats football team played through many challenges this season such as times of adversity, penalties, and overall this year's tough schedule, but his team played with all they had and kept working hard, which is something he is proud of most.
