CHENANGO COUNTY— Over the weekend, all local soccer teams, including the Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville and Oxford boys and the Greene girls, were back in action in the second round of Sectionals. Unfortunately, all fell short in tough matchups.

The Greene Trojans boys’ soccer team advanced to the semifinals with a 2-1 win in double overtime against Walton/Downsville. Dawson Kimble and Kenny Baucas scored for the Trojans in the victory. Greene will meet familiar opponent Seton Catholic in the semifinals, whom they faced last year.

The BGAH boys lost a tough matchup to top seed Chenango Forks 12-0 in the Section IV, Class B tournament. The Oxford boys fell 3-0 to top seed Trumansburg.

The Greene Trojans girls’ soccer team came up short 3-1 to Elmira Notre Dame. Greene’s Caitlin Walls scored the lone goal on a free kick from 22 yards out in the second half.
