OSWEGO — The Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves football team traveled to take on the Class A Oswego Buccaneers on Saturday afternoon. Both teams set the bar high in a high-scoring affair that the Bucs took 64-41. Despite the loss, the Timberwolves saw a big day for its senior Quarterback Hadden Price.
Price became the first passer in S-E school history to pass the 300-yard passing mark. Price went 14-for-23 for 333 yards and four touchdowns. Price surpassed alum Darren Miles’ 270-yard performance from 2023.
Congratulations, Hadden.
“We played hard and it was an evenly matched game, but we fell behind early and they just had fewer mistakes,” Coach Steve Franklin said. “Price showed what he can do for us when he’s healthy, which he had a lot of adversity throughout the season, and we needed his strong passing game to dig our way back.”
It was senior-led on the S-E offense as Lukas Schieferstein had four catches for 153 yards and three touchdowns. Tomek Jusianiec added six receptions for 148 yards and scored on a three-yard rush. Justin Race caught an eight-yard pass from Price as Schieferstein also ran one back for a 68 yard kickoff return.
Saturday’s game was S-E’s final game of the 2025 season as their next opponent, Jordan-Eldridge forfeited this week’s game, giving S-E the victory. S-E finished the 2025 season with a 1-7 record.
S-E, as team, set a new single-season passing record this year, throwing for 1,331 yards to break the previous mark of 1,187 from 2023. In his first and final season with the Timberwolves, Schieferstein set a new program mark as he became the first receiver to average more than 100 yards per game, with 101.4 yards, and his nine touchdown receptions this season, ties Nick Hull’s single-season mark.
“Our seniors are going to be tough to replace and I wish I had more time with Schieferstein, who is a special player, who’s explosive, and makes great things happen when we put the ball in his hands,” Franklin said. “We do have a great core of kids ready to work and are excited to get back in the gym on Monday to come back and fight like heck in 2026.”
Good season, S-E and good luck to the seniors.
