NORWICH - St. Bartholomew’s Church invites the community to enjoy a delicious tradition at its 72nd Spaghetti Dinner, taking place 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25 at the Rev Msgr Guy A Festa Parish Center, located at 81 East Main Street, Norwich.

A tradition that started in St. Bartholomew’s church basement in 1930 has become an anticipated event for parishioners and community members alike. 

Hundreds of hungry dinners are expected to be served over the two days. 

The spaghetti dinner is known for its generous portions and homemade quality. Each meal includes spaghetti, homemade meatballs, fresh bread, salad, a beverage, and dessert. Desert this year feature ice cream from Gilligan’s Ice Cream, a local favorite that will add a sweet finish to the meal. 

In anticipation of the event volunteers are busy making over 1,200 homemade meatballs and 60 gallons of sauce, along with 80 pounds of pasta cooked during the two days. 

The cost is only $14 for adults and $10 for children ages 3 to 12, under 3 eat for free. All proceeds this year will go towards purchasing gift cards for St. Bartholomew’s Thanksgiving food basket for those that need assistance at this time of year.

“We’re proud to continue this cherished tradition,” said Anthony Testani, Dinner Chairman. “It’s not just about great food, it’s about bringing the community together.”

Meals will be available dine-in or take-out, and proceeds will support parish activities and community outreach programs.
