NORWICH – Over the weekend, Norwich junior Maverick Beckwith committed to the Army West Point Wrestling program after graduation. Beckwith, who has two more years as a student athlete at Norwich High School, has already built himself an impressive resume that attracted several colleges, including his choice of Army West Point. According to New York USA Wrestling, Beckwith is currently the 129th overall National prospect for the class of 2027, number four in-state recruit on the NY-USAW Junior Big Board, a three-time NYSPHSAA DII State Medalist/ two-time defending champion, four-time section IV placer/ a three-time defending titlist, 2025 Eastern States Classic Runner-up, and runner-up at the 2025 Grappler Fall Classic.
