GREENE — After a nice win for the seniors on Tuesday night, the Greene Trojans boys’ soccer team was back at it on Thursday night against Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville. It was the final home game of the regular season for the Trojans and final MAC league matchup before the playoffs.
Greene came out on top with a 5-0 shutout victory to be in the top four of the MAC that advances to the Semi-finals for a chance to make the MAC championship game.
Jackson Rice led the Trojans with a hat trick (three goals) as Seth Symons scored the other two goals. Symons also assisted two of Rice’s three goals. Paxson McCumiskey and Judd Dutcher picked up assists on Symons’ goals.
BGAH was held to one shot on goal from Ben Porter on a penalty kick that was unsuccessful in the second half. Matthew Wombacker made 14 saves in goal for the Bobcats in the loss while Greene’s Jackson Roth and the Greene defense did a spectacular job.
Greene’s final game of the 2025 regular season will be on the road against non-league opponent Horseheads on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Trojans finished the league schedule with a 4-3 MAC record and are 9-4 overall.
