OXFORD – The Oxford Blackhawks volleyball team hosted a tough Deposit-Hancock team on Monday night at Oxford High School. Both teams battled and volleyed harshly, but it was the home team that took the match 3-1. Oxford was down early on in the fourth set to come back and win to take the match.
The final scores of the match were Oxford 25-19, D/H 25-19, Oxford 25-21, and Oxford 27-25.
There were great all-around key plays from just about everyone in the Blackhawks’ lineup with several girls making great dives and great serves to come back from behind.
Kassidy Miller led the Blackhawks with 25 assists, five kills, four aces, and one block. Emerson LaMonica added seven digs, three aces, and a kill while Reagan Long had 17 kills, three digs, and two assists.
Gabby Palmer picked up three digs and an assist as Abby Stone finished with four assists, two digs, and a kill. Bridgette Foster was stellar on the court, adding five digs, five assists, four aces, and four kills.
Miley Depew had five kills and a dig and Brienne Charles tallied six kills and five digs on the night.
Olivia Oliver finished with two aces and two kills while Margaret Rovente contributed with three kills in the win.
Oxford hosts Unatego for senior night on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
