GREENE — On Thursday evening, the Greene Trojans girls’ swim team hosted Oneonta for a local swim meet. Oneonta took the meet by a score of 80-43. The Trojans showed success in relays as well as close finishes.

Greene was led by their 200 free relay team of Brihana Silva, Louise Mendolia, Corrine Dicenzo, and Genevieve Heatherman taking the victory with a time of elf 1:06.81. Dicenzo, Mendolia, Heatherman, and Haylee Erceg earned the win in the 400 free relay with a time of 1:57.75.

Heatherman also achieved first place individually in the 100 backstroke with the fastest time of 1:50 exactly with Dicenzo behind her (2:01.05).

Haylee Erceg led the Trojans with a second place finish in the 500 free with a time of 7:55.29, behind the leader’s 7:09.73. She also took third in the 200 individual medley with a time of 3:34.44.

Greene’s Joycelynn Abbis, Louise Mendolia, and Brihana Silva all swam together in the 50 free, finishing fourth, fifth, and sixth respectfully. Mendolia also swam in the 200 freestyle with a time of 4:08.81 for fourth place.

Genevieve Heatherman and Corrine Dicenzo both swam in the 100 free, where Heatherman took third with a time of 1:34.30 and Dicenzo followed with a time of 1:44.23.

Greene heads to Norwich on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. for a local county matchup.
