S-E boys soccer falls short to Canastota in overtime
CANASTOTA – The Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves boys’ soccer team battled it out on the road against Canastota on Monday night under the lights, but fell short 2-1 in overtime.
S-E took a 1-0 lead at halftime off a goal from Aiden Shreve. However, Canastota scored in the second half, which sent the game into extras. In extras, the Raiders netted the game-winner.
S-E’s JJ Fischer made eight saves in the loss.
S-E (1-5) hosts Utica Academy of Science on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Norwich boys’ soccer drops to Walton/Downsville
DOWNSVILLE – Coming off an upset against Owego Apalachin, the Norwich Purple Tornado boys’ soccer team matched up against Walton/Downsville in a STAC/MAC showdown in Downsville. It was a close game in the first half with Walton/Downsville taking a 3-1 lead, but they took ultimate control in the second half, securing a 6-2 victory.
Norwich had one goal in the first half by James Sprague. Sprague assisted Collin Reid’s goal in the second half.
