Greene boys’ soccer stay undefeated with close win against UV/GMU

GILBERTSVILLE – The Greene Trojans and the UV/GMU Storm met for a local MAC contest at Gilbertsville-Mount Upton on Friday afternoon. Greene came into the matchup undefeated while UV/GMU was looking for its first win of the season. Both teams battled, but it was the Trojans coming away with the close 2-1 victory.

UV/GMU took a 1-0 lead at the half with a goal by senior Braden Golliver, but the Trojans struck back in the second half. Judd Dutcher and Seth Symons helped secure the win for Greene with assists by Jackson Rice and Kenny Baucas.

UV/GMU also played at Edmeston on Saturday, where they fell 5-0.

Greene improves to 7-0 and hosts Edmeston this evening at 5 p.m. as UV/GMU (0-7) heads to Stamford this evening at 6:30 p.m.

S-E boys’ soccer falls short on the road against Adirondack

ADIRONDACK – The Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves boys’ soccer team traveled to take on the Adirondack Wildcats on Saturday morning. S-E fell short 3-1.

S-E’s lone goal came in the second half from Will Leinbach off an assist by James O’Connor.
