NORWICH – On Wednesday, September 17, City of Norwich police officers were led on a chase that ended after patrol vehicles boxed-in a fleeing vehicle, forcing the driver to surrender.

Police arrested the driver, Lance A. Madsen, of Norwich, after he failed to comply with a traffic stop on Cortland Street.

The incident concluded safely on County Road 36 in the Town of Norwich after officers were able to box in the vehicle, bringing the pursuit to an end, said Deputy Chief Scott Burlison.

During the investigation, officers discovered that Madsen was in possession of narcotics and a weapon.
