OXFORD - 6 On The Square in Oxford will open its 2025-26 season with a concert from bluegrass band Serene Green at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 13.
The Northeastern Pennsylvania act, which features Quentin Fisher, Michael Johnson, Steve Leonard, Katelynn Casper and Sam Zolla, honors the traditional side of bluegrass from the pioneers of the genre while also showcasing its original compositions.
Since the band's inception in 2017, Serene Green has played in three countries and in over 20 of the United States, performed at countless festivals and venues alongside other nationally and internationally touring acts, and released three studio albums.
The band has shared stages with The Del McCoury Band, The Seldom Scene, The Infamous Stringdusters, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, David Bromberg, Dan Tyminski Band, The Travelin' McCourys, Danny Paisley & The Southern Grass, Sideline, Railroad Earth and Cabinet, among others. They have become a favorite at music festivals such as DelFest, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival, The Peach Music Festival, NEPA Bluegrass Festival, Musikfest, Watermelon Pickers' Festival, Wind Gap Bluegrass Festival and Podunk Bluegrass Festival (where the band was voted winner of the band competition in 2022).
