OXFORD — The Oxford Memorial Library, located at 8 Fort Hill Park in Oxford, will be offering two free craft nights this month to celebrate the arrival of fall.
First is their monthly Family Craft Night at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9. Families will be working with Oxford Memorial Library Youth Services Coordinator Delaney Root to create faux dried corn decorations.
"She will show you how to make these adorable faux dried corn. Around this time of year you might be seeing them put out for sale for decorations. It’s plastic glass gem corn, and it’s really fun to make your own," said Oxford Memorial Library Director Gillian Mulder. "It’ll be using beads and pipe cleaners and they turn out very cute, plus you can use them as decoration year after year."
All supplies will be provided. The craft night is open to adults and youth of all ages. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The Oxford Library will also be hosting their monthly Adult Craft Night at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 18. Mulder will help participants paint a landscape or abstract background, and then create dragonflies out of natural materials to add to their artwork.
