COVENTRY - A special fundraiser for the Delaware Valley Humane Society “Stouts, Ales and Puppy Dog Tails” will be hosted by Forged Brewery on Saturday, August 23 from noon to 6 p.m.

Mike Andres at Forged Brewery is crafting a special beer for the occasion called “Butters’ Day Out” in honor of a foster dog from DVHS who visited the brewery as an escapee. For every pint poured of Butters’ Day Out, two dollars will be donated to the Delaware Valley Humane Society. In addition one dollar from every other craft beer poured that day will also go to DVHS. After the day of the fundraiser $1 will be donated for every pint of Butters’ Day Out that is sold.

Along with the special beer there will also be delicious barbecue by Austin Farms. Musical guests Mike Mullenax and Uncle Shake will be appearing starting at 12:30 p.m. Raffles of items created by Santa himself and more are coming in at time of publication. There are also a limited number of event t-shirts available with all the profits going to the Humane Society.

The fundraiser runs from noon through 6 p.m. but the brewery and winery are open until 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Their regular hours are Thursday and Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m.

Dogs are welcome on the grounds at any time, not just for the fundraiser, as long as they are friendly and on a leash.

Forged Brewery and Better Daze Winery are located at 1732 NY-41, Bainbridge between Afton and Coventryville just south of the blinking light in Coventryville. The brewery and winery share the grounds and wine will also be available.

Delaware Valley Humane Society has many beautiful dogs and cats available for adoption. Proceeds from this and other fundraisers go directly into the care and feeding of the animals. Located on East Main Street in Sidney, their GPS  location is 17420 Co. Hwy. 23,  Sidney, NY 13838.
