GILBERTSVILLE - The next meeting of Butternut Valley Grange, Gilbertsville, is scheduled for Monday, August 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Grange Hall, 7 Bloom Street. Newly elected President, Lynne Porter will be sharing thoughts on committees for the new Grange year. A contribution will be presented to Aunt Mary’s House, Norwich, as a result of loose change that has been raised by members in recent monthly meetings. Aunt Mary’s House is a project for unwed mothers.

One other item of business will be the presentation of the operating budget for the 2025/2026 Grange year.

At the July meeting, John and Barbara Rossanda reported on the successful event they chaired at the Carnival of Sales Day in Unadilla. They thanked the committee for the net proceeds of over $400 realized that day. Keith Klingman reported that the eastern side of the Grange Hall has been recently painted and that new steps at the rear of the building were also needing to be replaced which had not been anticipated originally

The Grange is very appreciative of the recent award of grant monies from the Community Foundation of Unadilla in helping towards the exterior painting of one side of the Grange Hall and also to help continue the home delivery project of meals to the community.

A pie making endeavor will be held on August 8. Pre-sale orders are appreciated with calls going to Roberta Halbert 783-2445 by August 7. Pies can be picked up at the Grange Hall on August 8.

Beverages and greeting early arrivals at the meeting on August 11 will be coordinated by Norm and Anna Ritchey and John and Barbara Rossanda.
