NTCI Holding 'Sleepy Hollow' Auditions This Month

NORWICH — The Norwich Theater Company, Inc. (NTCI) will be holding auditions for their upcoming production "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" later this month at the Chenango Arts Council, located at 27 West Main Street in Norwich.

Audition times include 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20 in the Mariea Brown and Raymond Loft Gallery, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 21 in the Martin W. Kappel Theater, and from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August 23 in the Martin W. Kappel Theater.

Individuals do not need to attend all audition sessions. If needed, callbacks will be held on August 24, with a cast and crew meet and greet on August 27 and rehearsals beginning on September 2.

"'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow' is a retelling of the classic tale by Washington Irving. Set in the village of Sleepy Hollow, which is located about 130 miles away from us, this tale is set in the 18th century," explained Director Donna Given. "In Sleepy Hollow, rumors and legends abound concerning the mysterious and frightening Headless Horseman. When a new schoolteacher comes to town and tries to charm the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel, his fate is ultimately decided by the Horseman."
