Smyrna Citizens Band To Perform Monday Night

SMYRNA - The Smyrna Citizens Band will return to the bandstand above the Smyrna Library for its fifth concert of the summer series on Monday, July 28. The free performance will begin at 7 p.m. with “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

The evening’s program will feature: Strike Up The Band, Jersey Boys, Chorale, Trumpet Voluntary, Amparito Rosa, A Hymn For Band, Highlights From Mary Poppins, Tritsch-Tratsch Polka, Excerpts From The New World Symphony, Stevie Wonder in Concert, and closing as usual with The Smyrna Citizens Band March.

Desserts will be available for purchase at the Methodist Church, prepared by the church volunteers and the Smyrna Auxiliary. Popcorn will also be offered at the library. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the concert among neighbors and friends.

Next Monday the concert returns August 4, and will feature: Washington Post March, The Enchanted Canyon, Amazing Grace, Prelude in G Minor, Percy Grainger Portrait, I Dreamed a Dream, Guadalcanal March, Take On Me, Latin Winds, and Highlights from The Music Man.
