NORWICH - Two Norwich residents were arrested Monday after police said a traffic stop led to the seizure of significant amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine and crack cocaine.
According to the Norwich Police Chief Reuben Roach, officers stopped a vehicle on Rexford Street at around 10:57 a.m. and identified one of the occupants, William K. Hamilton, 59, as having an active warrant. A search of the vehicle uncovered quantities of illegal drugs, police said.
Hamilton and Heather A. Pollock, 36, were charged with multiple felonies related to drug possession and evidence tampering. Both were arraigned in central arraignment court and released on their own recognizance.
The New York State Police assisted in the arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
Hamilton was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (Class B felony), fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (Class C felony), tampering with physical evidence (Class E felony), and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (Class A misdemeanor). Pollock was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (Class C felony), tampering with physical evidence (Class E felony), and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (Class A misdemeanor).
