OXFORD - Mid-July is when all the berries that have been forming and ripening for the past months, packing in all the sun’s sweetness, are suddenly ready for picking, when all at once we have them in crazy abundance.
And crazy abundance is what customers will find at the Oxford Farmers’ Market this Saturday in the form of blueberries, red raspberries, black raspberries, and black and white currants.
In addition to beautiful berry harvests, the 30 vendors at the Market this Saturday will be offering a wide variety of local plant starts and flowers; seasonal veggies and mushrooms; eggs, dairy products and regional cheeses; locally raised and processed beef, lamb, pork and chicken; local hard ciders, maple syrup and honey; coffee and tea; hand-made soaps, lotions and balms; homemade treats for dogs; exquisitely hand-crafted items for the kitchen and home; and artisan fiber products from local producers. Every product comes straight from a local source and the skilled hands of your neighbors.
The fabulous duo of Jo Jo Russell and Arias Mitchell will be performing in the Bandstand this Saturday. The Market is open from 9:00 am - noon, with music starting at 10: 00 am.
This Saturday, the Market community will also be part of an extended celebration of life of Dr. Bob O’Keefe, beloved local veterinarian and supporter of the arts and of the Oxford Farmers’ Market. All are welcome. For more information and to sign up for the Market’s weekly newsletter, visit their website: www.oxfordfarmersmarket.org
