NORWICH - Guernsey Memorial Library, located at 3 Court Street in Norwich, is hosting their free movie series "Movies Under the Stars" once again this summer.

Movies will be held at dusk, around 8:30 p.m., every Wednesday through July and August in the Library Park.

Free popcorn will be available, as well as limited seating at picnic tables in the park. Access to bathrooms in the Guernsey Library will also be available.

Guernsey Memorial Library Director Connie Dalrymple said they will set up a large projector in the park each week to screen a family-friendly movie.

"We have a giant blow-up screen that we put on the little back patio of the library, and then we have a projector," said Guernsey Memorial Library Director Connie Dalrymple. "Everybody sits out on the little berm right there, and we have popcorn on the side."

Visitors should bring their own beverages, as well as blankets or chairs to sit on if they'd like.

The free movie series kicked off on July 2 with "The Wild Robot," and continued on July 9 with a showing of "The Legend of Ochi." The series continues on July 16 with "The Day the Earth Blew Up."

Through the rest of the summer, movies will include "Transformers One" on July 23, "Inside Out 2" on July 30, "Despicable Me 4" on August 6, "Flow" on August 13, "Moana 2" on August 20, and "Thunderbolts" on August 27.

Dalrymple said the public had the opportunity to vote on the movie selection again this year.

"Usually I go through the publisher catalog first and just see what has come out in the past year that has gotten good reviews and looks good for general audiences," Dalrymple explained. "Then I put a list of possible choices and people can rate those and they can also write in their own choices."

In the event of inclement weather, Movies Under the Stars will be moved inside the library.
