MORRIS – The Norwich PONY League team traveled to Morris High School to close out a three-game set with Edmeston. Norwich swept the series and came home with a comfortable 14-6 victory. Norwich sits about a game behind Unatego in the A division with a record of 4-1 as Unatego is unbeaten this summer at 4-0.

Norwich took an early 3-0 lead against Edmeston as Gavin Burrell doubled on two pitches to lead-off the game. He stole third and scored on Pierce Sherman’s one-out, two-run double as Blayne Sutton, who walked, scored as well. James Sprague followed with a single and Sherman stole home during Luke Waters’ at-bat.

Edmeston got on the board in the bottom of the second and tried to tie the game in the third, but Norwich added an insurance run to lead 4-3.

Norwich piled on the runs in the top of the fourth inning, scoring 10 runs and held Edmeston to three final runs.
