BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge Bolts PONY league team hosted Delhi on Friday night, looking for a better outcome than the first game of the summer season. The Bolts were shut out until the fifth inning, where they kept the game going, but fell short 14-6.

After a scoreless first inning for both teams, Delhi had a big eight-run inning and added on with two runs in the third and one in the fourth.

Down 11-0, the Bolts were nearly mercied, but turned things around in the bottom of the fifth to keep the game going. Bainbridge scored five runs to cut the deficit to six. Davis Barnard led the inning off with a hit by pitch, advanced to second on a one-out walk to Ethan Beardslee, and to third on a wild pitch. Cullen Benjamin grounded into a fielder’s choice to bring in Barnard.

Down to their final out in now a 10-run game, Bainbridge rallied. Two runs scored on an error while another on a wild pitch. After being no-hit through five and two-thirds, Brayden Wehrli broke up with the no-hitter with a single to center field.
