ONEONTA – The Bainbridge Bolts traveled to take on the Oneonta jr. Outlaws on Thursday night, coming home with a tight 6-4 victory to improve to 3-1 on the season.

The Bolts got on the board early in the top of the first off a RBI single by Mason Sherwood. Sherwood also picked up another RBI in the third, and finished with three on the night.

After a scoreless second inning, Bainbridge added on with a run in the third, fourth, and fifth innings before Oneonta answered back in the bottom of the fifth. Both teams closed out with two runs in the sixth.

Mason Sherwood led the Bolts with two hits and a team-high three RBIs as Braison Ives and Cullen Benjamin also drove in one run each. Ives, Mason Acquisto, and Brayden Wehrli each had one hit apiece as Acquisto stole a team-high five bases in the win.

Wehrli went five solid innings on the mound for the Bolts, allowing two earned runs on two hits, four walks, and struck out eight batters. Braison Ives and Frank Parsons worked the sixth inning, where Ives allowed two earned runs on no hits, three walks, and had one strikeout. Parsons got the two final outs.

Bainbridge also turned a double play in the second inning on defense as they got the out at first and the runner at the plate.

The Bolts are right back in action this evening as they host Delhi at 6 p.m.
