NORWICH - The Chenango County Dairy Promotion Committee had a strong showing at this year’s Dairy Day celebration on June 21.
The team delighted visitors with their engaging and educational booth, themed “What Do Cows Eat?” Thomas Hanehan of Mount Upton, NY, developed the booth.
The team also educated consumers with a trivia wheel. Associate Ambassador Abby Stone and Jr. Ambassadors Margaret Hanehan, Ellie Hanehan, Juliet Hanehan, and Maranda Schmidt quizzed the public on facts about the dairy industry.
One of the day's biggest highlights was the presence of Jr. Ambassador Macie Vincent and her nine-month-old milking shorthorn calf, KitKat. Macie and her calf live on a farm in Oxford, New York, where they have many adventures and attend competitive cow shows.
The event culminated in the serving of a giant ice cream sundae, large enough to fill a kiddie
pool, which over 200 of the attendees enjoyed.
The Dairy Promotion Team is excited to meet the public at the Firefighters’ Parade at the Chenango County Fairgrounds on August 6.
