NORWICH — The Norwich Hometown Heroes Banner Committee honored 89 more veterans this year with banners hung throughout downtown Norwich.
A dedication ceremony was held on Flag Day, June 14, kicking off this year's round of banners. They will be on display now through Veterans Day.
The banners include a photo of the service member, their name, branch of service, and the years they served.
Hometown Heroes Committee Member John Antonowicz said they tied this year's program in with Airport Day by honoring several Air Force and air-related veterans.
The Norwich Department of Public Works (DPW) assisted the committee by hanging the banners throughout the city.
"We couldn’t have done it without them. They do a great job every year," said Antonowicz.
