"I love the competition and it's all about testing yourself," Reynolds said. "I loved marital arts as a kid and my grandpa boxed, so fighting is in my blood. At 36 years old, the weight cuts aren't easy to make anymore, but I still love it."

Reynolds also had his family there in support, including his wife of 20 years and their children, including their oldest son, who got to be in the coaches corner helping and his youngest son cheering loud and proud in the stands.

"My youngest has never seen me fight and he wanted me to do this one, so it was the just the right matchup at the right time, 25 miles away from home," Reynolds said. “It didn’t matter if I won or lost, it was all about finishing the journey."

Women's 138 Amateur Kickboxing event: Ava Cioci over Emily Licata by 1st round TKO.

"It's always good to be in the ring. It's what we love to do," Slater said. "This is what we train for almost every day, so it kind of feels like home in there. Having the hometown support was amazing too, so thank you to everybody that came out."

Slater also described the fight inside the ring from his perspective, where he quickly got ahead and stayed strong to win the title.

"He's a tough opponent and he had 20 MMA fights before me," Slater said. "He's been a champion of numerous promotions, so I knew I had to get in there and get out, so I didn't want to stand up with him. He's pretty good at standing up, so I took it to the ground and I was able to finish the fight on the ground."

Congratulations, Brennan!
