COLUMBUS — A 36-year-old Town of New Berlin man is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading Chenango County deputies on a vehicle pursuit into neighboring Otsego County earlier this month.
According to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, Charles O. Hall was arrested June 8 and charged with third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, second-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Deputies reported they attempted to stop a vehicle in the Town of Columbus for traffic violations. The alleged driver, Hall, reportedly failed to comply and fled the scene, resulting in a pursuit that crossed county lines into Otsego County and evaded police.
Following an investigation, authorities said Hall later turned himself in to deputies. He was charged and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Columbus Court at a later date.
All charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
