NORWICH – A new exhibit at the Northeast Classic Car Museum entitled “Farm to Market” will open to the public on Sunday, June 15 at 9 a.m.

The new exhibit will be on display through May 2026. The museum changes out part of the more than 200 vehicles on display every year in celebration of the first exhibit opening 28 years ago in 1997.

The new exhibit, “Farm to Market,” features 23 vehicles that highlight tractors that farmed the land, and the trucks that delivered the produce. When you think of farms and all they do for the American - and world – economy, powerful tractors have been the backbone since the early 1900s. Once the tractor – and more importantly the farmer – finished working the farm, the truck would carry goods to the local market.

Iconic tractors like John Deere, Ford, Minneapolis Moline, Case, Allis Chalmers, BF Avery, and Farmall will sit alongside classic trucks like the 1930 Ford Model A, 1949 Diamond T, and 1947 M5 Studebaker in this new exhibit to the Northeast Classic Car Museum.

Each tractor in the exhibit illustrates a different aspect of how farming changed over time. Likewise, the trucks highlight how delivering the goods to market also advanced and changed.

Robert M. Jeffrey, Executive Director of the Northeast Classic Car Museum, stated, "The new 'Farm to Market' exhibit teaches about the historical evolution of farming equipment and how goods were transported from the farm to the market in America. Agriculture is a significant part of American history, and nothing is more symbolic of farming than a tractor working a field or pictured in front of a barn. The Northeast Classic Car Museum has 23 vehicles of various tractors and trucks on display along with other related educational story boards that highlight the history of farming with tractors and trucks. Each tractor in the collection illustrates a different aspect of how farming changed over time."

The Northeast Classic Car Museum Exhibit Committee has been busy working hard the past year selecting the tractors and trucks for the new “Farm to Market” exhibit, and they have added cars in our Pre War and Post War exhibits, which features some of the rarest cars and motorcycles in American History.

Jeffrey added, “There is a tremendous amount of thought and work required to present new exhibits, and I want to thank all of our exhibitors, volunteers, supporters, staff, and members of the NECCM Board of Trustees that have dedicated their time to make the Northeast Classic Car Museum the world-class museum it is today.”

The Museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., seven days per week. The museum is on one level, wheelchair accessible, and scooters are available. The museum is closed three days per year on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter Sunday.
