MARATHON – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats, Harpursville/Afton, and Unadilla Valley track and field teams attended the Section IV, Class D meet at Marathon on Wednesday, where the Bainbridge-Guilford girls’ brought home the Class D title. Great job! The girls won both the MAC championship and now the Class championship while looking ahead at a Sectionals and State championship. This Class D championship is back-to-back after the Bobcats boys’ and girls’ swept the meet last year.

Girls’ Track:
Aside from winning the girls’ championship, the Bainbridge-Guilford girls’ 4x100 came out victorious as Kayla Patton, Makayla McCloud, Madisyn Larsen, and Keelan Ammon ran the fastest 54.22 seconds.
Larsen, Patton, Maddie Ingham, and Laila Williams came away with the top finish in the girls’ 4x400 with the fastest time of 4:28.10.
Jalyn Winans, Lalaenia Baldwin, Laila Williams, and Maddie Ingham took second behind UV in the girls’ 4x800 meter relay with a time of 11:03.44.
Maddie Ingham outlasted Madison Moore from Edmeston/Morris in the 1500 meter run as Ingham became a class D champion with the fastest time of 5:14.54.
Lalaenia Baldwin came in sixth in the 2000 meter steeplechase with a time of 8:48.03 as a local to the Butternuts area, Madison Moore from Edmeston/Morris won the event with a time of 7:56.61.
B-G’s Vanessa Brazee finished ninth in the steeplechase with a time of 9:26.21.
