VESTAL – The Norwich Purple Tornado track and field teams traveled to Vestal on Wednesday for the STAC Championship. The Norwich boys finished 12th with eight points as the girls came in 16th with three points.

Norwich boys:
Gabe Decker led the Norwich boys with a second place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.68 seconds, behind Vestal’s leading 56.11.
Nic Sutton ran in both the 1600 and 3200, where he finished eighth in the 3200 with a time of 10:50.98. Pat Mulwane finished 21st with a time of 12:53.68. Nic and brother Caden Sutton both ran the 1600, where Nic came in 11th (4:48.60) and Caden followed in 12th (4:48.79).
Caden also ran the 800, where he finished 23rd with a time of 2:16.97 as Malakai Hagenbuch finished 26th with a time of 2:21.24.
Connor Marshall led the Purple Tornado boys in the high jump with a 16th place finish with a jump of five feet. Marshall jumped the long jump with teammate Kaiden Vidler. Vidler led the team in both the long and triple jumps.
