OXFORD - After a long winter and a wet spring indoors, Oxford Farmers’ Market vendors will be back out on Lafayette Park for Opening Day of the 2025 summer season this Saturday, May 24, 9 am - Noon. Dozens of local farmers, bakers, beekeepers, tree tappers, soap makers and artisans will gather together to sell their locally grown and produced goods directly to the community continuing an age-old tradition of a town feeding and supporting itself. There is magic to be found in such a gathering, as neighbors catch up with each other and gratitude for all our local abundance and talent is acknowledged, all to the accompaniment of live music courtesy of the generous performers who come out every Saturday to play in the historic Bandstand. That’s what you’ll find on Opening Day — and every Saturday thru September — at the Oxford Farmers’ Market on Lafayette Park in Oxford, 9 am - Noon.
Close to 30 vendors will be offering a wide variety of local plant starts and seeds for the garden; just-picked seasonal veggies and mushrooms; eggs; dairy products and regional cheeses; locally raised and processed beef, lamb and pork; local hard ciders; maple syrup and honey; coffee and tea; hand-made soaps, lotions and balms; homemade treats for dogs; exquisitely hand-crafted items for the kitchen and home; and artisan fiber products from local producers. Every product straight from a local source and the skilled hands of your neighbors.
This week, longtime Market favorite composer George Anderson opens the 2025 Bandstand season by filling the Park with his bluesy compositions, 10 am - noon in the Bandstand. All events at the Market are free and open to the public.
