BAINBRIDGE – The Greene Trojans and the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball teams met up for a local matchup at B-G’s Greenlawn on Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday’s game was the MAC semifinals with a trip to the MAC Championship on the line. Greene won the contest with a 20-5 victory and returns to the MAC championship for the first time since winning the title in 2023.

Both teams were quick to get on the board in the first with B-G taking a brief 3-2 lead before Greene picked up the pace in the second and third innings with four runs. The Trojans secured the victory with 10 runs in their final at-bats in the sixth and held B-G to five runs in the first two innings.

The two key highlights of the contest for both teams were that there were two home runs hit. Greene’s Audra Doll hit a big grand slam to right field in the second inning after a pitching change. B-G’s Danica Park hit a two-out, two-run homer to center field in the top of the third inning.

Greene’s Mia Yahner barely missed her own home run, but settled for a RBI double on a ball hit off the screen in left field.
