NORTH NORWICH - A Sidney man was arrested April 23 following a motorcycle pursuit that crossed multiple townships, according to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff reported the man had no license and was in possession of drugs.
Michael J. Bush, 24, was taken into custody after deputies on routine patrol observed a motorcycle passing vehicles in a no-passing zone and failing to stop at a stop sign.
Authorities said Bush failed to comply, and a brief pursuit followed through the towns of North Norwich and Sherburne. The motorcycle eventually malfunctioned and came to a stop in Sherburne.
Deputies said Bush was found in possession of methamphetamine.
He was charged with third degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, second degree obstruction of governmental administration, third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and reckless driving.
Bush was processed at the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office and released on appearance tickets for Town of North Norwich Court.
All charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
