OXFORD — The Oxford Memorial Library will be hosting a Disaster Preparedness Training at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6 in the Oxford Memorial Library Community Room, located at 8 Fort Hill Park in Oxford.

The training is offered through the New York State Citizens Preparedness Corps, and will be taught by members of the New York National Guard.

"This training is actually run through the New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps. They have an initiative that they’re trying to educate New York State residents about how to prepare for these things," explained Oxford Memorial Library Director Gillian Mulder. "They provide a lot of great information like how to set up go kits, plans to have in place, and all that. Just so that way, when the worst case scenario happens, you can be prepared."
