NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado track and field teams hosted Sus Valley for a dual meet on Tuesday afternoon. The Norwich girls came away with a big win while the boys fell short to the Sabers. This meet helped Norwich prepare for hosting REK back at Norwich High School this year, which is this coming Friday.
Girls:
The Norwich girls defeated Sus Valley 83-27. The 4x400 and the 4x800 relay teams earned wins with a team of Tristan Monroe, Malea Sutton, Annie Boland, and Alexis Johnson running the 400. Kyra Brunick-Davis, Boland, Sutton, and Jordan Hammond led Norwich in the 4x800.
Kyra Brunick-Davis also led the Purple Tornado girls in the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:33. Boland took first in the 800 meter run with a time of 3:01.
Norwich’s Emma Larmon earned the victory in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 24.62 while Reagan Decker finished first in both the triple and high jumps.
Decker jumped 28 feet, eight inches in the triple jump and jumped four feet, four inches in the high jump.
