NORWICH - Earth Day on April 22, was celebrated with a cleanup day at the local Norwich YMCA. Volunteers and Y members spent the evening helping in spring cleaning, spreading mulch, weeding gardens and picking up litter.

Plans to have a monthly YMCA cleanup day have been made to continue the community effort to beautify and upkeep the outside gardens and property. The next cleanup day will be held Thursday May 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. Volunteers are welcome.
