SHERBURNE - The Sherburne Community Chorus presents “A Messiah Concert and Sing Along” at 3 p.m., Sunday, December 22 at the Sherburne United Church of Christ.
Come and enjoy the Christmas selections of The Messiah by George Frideric Handel and sing along with the Choruses and interspersed Christmas Carols.
Messiah scores are available for your use or you could bring your own. Whether you sing along or sit back and listen, all are welcome to join in the musical celebration.
Daisy Lawrence, soprano, Emma Jones, mezzo-soprano, Matthew Green, tenor, and Bruce Paulson, bass, will provide the solos in between the choral selections. The concert will be directed by Michael Moren and accompanied by Winnie Sortman on the organ and Michael Tefft on the trumpet. The concert is free of charge but donations will be gratefully accepted at the door or online at https://gofund.me/53891a5c.
This concert is funded by Earlville Opera House's Arts in the Community Grants Program, made possible by the NYS Legislature with support of the Office of the Governor, and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts.
Sherburne Community Chorus is under the umbrella of Sherburne Music-Theater Society (SMTS), performing 3-4 concerts per year in our community. They have a long history of giving local musicians and vocalist opportunities to utilize their skills and have provided many audiences with memorable performances.
