NORWICH - The Chenango County Sheriff's Office has welcomed two new deputies to its ranks following their graduation from the Broome County Law Enforcement Academy. Deputies Tanner Franklin and Michael Smith completed a rigorous seven-month Basic Police Academy program, followed by a six-week field training course.

Both deputies were officially recognized on Friday, Oct. 25, standing alongside Sheriff Ernest Cutting Jr. and Undersheriff Dustin Smietana.
