Legion Baseball: Norwich Drops To Cooperstown

COOPERSTOWN – The Norwich Post #189 legion baseball team was back in action on Monday evening against Cooperstown. Together, Norwich racked up five runs on six hits and its defense turned one double play. However, Cooperstown showed strength offensively to win 24-5 through six innings.

Cooperstown plated 13 runs in the first two innings before Norwich got on the board in the top of the third inning. Kolbey Redenback drove in a run on a single to center field. Redenback led the team with two hits while Joey Parker, Zac Turner, Collin Reid, and Kassen Stubb each had one hit.

Cooperstown extended its lead in the bottom half of the inning before both teams were kept off the board in the fourth inning. Norwich got three back in the top of the fifth inning before plating one final run in the sixth.

An error scored a run before Owen Olds grounded into a fielder’s choice and Joey Parker drove in a run with an infield single. Troy Schack scored the final run on a passed ball.
