Norwich And Oxford/Greene Track Competes At Rotary Relays

CHENANGO FORKS - On Thursday, the Norwich Purple Tornado and the Oxford/Greene Blackhawks track and field teams headed to Chenango Forks for the 2024 Rotary Relays to kick off the outdoor season. Clinton won overall for the girls and Vestal won the meet for the boys. Norwich girls came in 14th place while Oxford/Greene finished 15th and the Blackhawks boys' came in 12th place.

The Oxford/Greene boys picked up two fifth place finishes in the team relays. In the boys 4x200, a team of Jacob Eroshevich, Keegan Waltz, Lazarus Ludolph, and Vic Richette came in fifth with a time of 1:45.22. In the boys 4x400, Aiden Amin, Eddie Golden, Keegan Waltz, and Vic Richette carried the team to a fifth place finish in 3:57.26. Waltz, Amin, Eroshevich, and Gordon Smith paired up for the boys 1600 sprint medley, where they came in fourth place. The Oxford/Greene girls took ninth place with Liesl Ludolph, Kayla Knapp, Justina Parsons, and Alexis Clark finishing with a time of 5:35.23.

Norwich had a 4x800 team with Annie Boland, Kyra Brunick-Davis, McKenzie Hagenbuch, and Emilia Pepe finishing sixth as the 4x100 team earned fourth place. Caden and Nic Sutton led the Norwich boys 4x800 team to a 10th place finish along with Pat Mulwane and Anthony Roberts coming in at 9:40.
