BAINBRIDGE - After being postponed the day before, the Greene Trojans and Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball teams squared off for a local county match-up late Saturday morning. Greene had a great lead built up halfway through, but it was no match for the Bobcats as they tied it up and went on to win 9-8 in the bottom of the eighth inning.

In the season opener for both teams, Greene got off to a hot start with four runs in the first inning. Two runs scored on bases loaded walks while two runs came in on a fielder's choice from Colin Colgan. B-G responded with two runs in their half of the inning, including one of Connor Davy's two inside the park home runs. Greene extended their lead to 7-2 in the third inning off good base running in the second inning.

Davy got a hold of another deep ball in the bottom of the third inning to add one run before the Bobcats held Greene. Julian Pruskowski had an RBI double in the fourth inning as Timmy Kinter and Gavin Gifford got B-G within one run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
