NORWICH – NBT Bank’s latest Wall of Art installation at NBT headquarters in downtown Norwich features artwork created by Elizabeth Zeiler.

Inspired by vivid colors, Zeiler’s artwork is unique, colorful and bright. “My first art experience was at the age of five,” said Zeiler. “I painted a huge yellow sun with my fingers.  The teacher walked over saying in a negative tone  ‘You really like your yellow!’ From that day on I was drawn to vibrant colors and made the decision that no one would discourage me from my art.”

At a young age she knew the direction she wanted to take and kept following that path to today. “In 2000, I became very serious about painting and psychology,” she said. “My art is mostly self taught a long with preliminary art courses and psychology geared me to teaching all ages from 4 to 90.  In my 24 years as an artist, seeing how art was therapeutic to myself and others, has driven me to share my art to help others become confident and happy exploring their own world.”

Zeiler’s artwork will be on display through the end of March 2024.

“Elizabeth Zeiler has had a very impressive career in the arts,” said Chenango Arts Council Executive Director Alecia O’Neill. “We’re pleased to be able to present her work on the NBT Wall of Art and in our gallery later in the year.”
