AURORA – After a win against Utica-Notre Dame to get into the official Section III, Class B tournament, the Sherburne-Earlville boys’ basketball team faced off against second seed Little Falls on Wednesday night. The two had met once in the regular season, earlier in the month, with the Mounties winning 65-35. S-E looked for a better outcome and had been playing fierce to close out the regular season. However, they fell 75-53, ending the 2023-2024 season.

S-E was at a good pace to start out the game as they were against Utica-Notre Dame at home on Monday. However, Little Falls dished out 25 points in the second quarter to take a 38-27 lead at the break. The Mounties only continued their dominance in the third quarter with adding 20 more points. S-E pushed through with their best efforts in the second half, but Little Falls was much too strong and held a comfortable lead at that point.

After a big game on Monday, Nick Hull excelled again with a team-high 12 points, knocking down three three’s. Dilen Maceda had a strong game as well with 11 points with his ability to move inside all season. Noah Bigford added 10 points while fellow senior Darren Miles hit three three-pointers to finish his final game with nine points. Aaron Key had eight points as Nelson Hadlock and Brayden O’Hara both contributed with two points in the loss.

Great season, S-E and best of luck to seniors Darren Miles, Nelson Hadlock, Noah Bigford, Aaron Key, and Avery Parsons. Also, congratulations on 36 years of coaching, Kevin Vibbard Sr. S-E finished the 2023-2024 season with a 9-13 record.
