MADISON – After a big push at the end of the regular season, the Otselic Valley boys’ basketball team headed into sectionals, where they faced off against Madison in the Section III, Class D tournament. OV was familiar with its league opponent and only hoped to revenge both regular season losses. While the Vikings gave their best efforts late in the contest, they fell 56-45 to the Blue Devils. OV finished the season with a 7-14 record and sixth in the CCL Central Counties division.

OV was limited in the first half, which allowed Madison to put pressure on early and strive to a comfortable 24-9 lead at halftime. The Vikings turned things around in the second half, but the Blue Devils could not be slowed down. OV played their best in the final eight minutes with posting 21 team points and outscored Madison 36-32 in the second half.

Braeden Davis finished his final high school basketball game with 25 points, hitting six three’s. OV’s all-time leading scorer averaged 23.4 points throughout the 21 games played this season. Caleb Loomis followed with 11 points as Lukas Schieferstein added seven points and Owen Davis contributed with two points in the loss.

Good luck to seniors Braeden Davis and Cole Warren.
