WALTON – The Oxford Blackhawks girls’ basketball team, who made a states run in 2023, has had an up-and-down season, but they’ve remained optimistic and looked to finish this year strong, which they did. Oxford, who finished fourth in the MAC division II, traveled to take on Walton/Downsville in the MAC playoffs.

Oxford won in the final moments as Margaret Rovente was fouled at the buzzer. Rovente made the game-winning free-throw and finished with eight points in the Blackhawks’ 29-28 victory.

Oxford finished the 2023-2024 season with a 2-6 divisional record and with a 6-14 overall record.
