CONKLIN – After a tough loss to Oneonta at home, the Norwich Purple Tornado boys' basketball team traveled to take on Sus Valley. The Purple Tornado took the first round on their home court, but couldn't quite get it done this time as the Sabers split the STAC series with a 66-40 win.

Norwich, hit with some tough games to round out the regular season, was limited in the first half with Sus Valley showing much strength in the first eight minutes with 24 points. Norwich got back under control in the second half, slowing the Sabers down in the fourth quarter, but due to shortened efforts in the first half, a comeback was difficult to achieve.

The Purple Tornado continued to see strong shooting from Steven Dowdall, who posted a team-high 13 points. He scored the team's only four points in the second quarter before finishing strong with eight points in the third quarter, where he knocked in a few three's. Chase Colley scored all seven of his points in the final eight minutes with the team finishing steady. Kassen Stubb added six points in second half efforts as Graham Burton had four points.

Norwich hosts non-league Walton/Downsville this evening at 6 p.m. to wrap up the regular season.
