MUNNSVILLE – It was an intense game between the Otselic Valley Vikings and Stockbridge Valley boys’ basketball teams on Friday night.

Fans of both teams were ecstatic with the high energy contest, where OV went home happy with a 68-57 win.

The Vikings put up their best efforts in the first quarter with posting 26 points, but Stockbridge only rallied before halftime. OV fought back in the final possession of the first half as Caleb Loomis banked a three at the buzzer. OV led 37-35 at halftime.

From that point on, they continued to play consistent and make crucial free-throws when necessary to hold the Cougars. OV picked up its sixth win of the season with one final regular season game remaining.

Aside from a well-balanced team, senior Braeden Davis had the best game of the season with a dominant 42 points, including seven three’s and shooting 11-for-14 at the line. Caleb Loomis and Owen Davis both added nine points as Lukas Schieferstein hit two three’s for eight points.

OV (6-13) takes on non-league opponent Lyme on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
